I started taking pictures when I was around 12, and shot all kinds of miscellaneous things that kids shoot. I also spent a few years as a tv news photographer, and have shot countless interviews over the years. Thinking back to the type of photography I liked as a kid, Richard Avedon being a major influence, I've come to realize photographing people is something I enjoy, and the "interview" in news photography helped bolster my affinity for one of my favorite forms of image making, portraiture.
